NCB arrests comedian Bharti Singh after drugs found on her house

Comedain Celebrity Bharti Singh was arrested on Saturday by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) after being questioned by the agency in connection with drug-related inquiry.


The NCB searched Bharti Singh’s home and her office in the morning as a part of its probe into case of drug use in the Hindi film industry.


NCB reported that 86.5 gms of cannabis was recovered from Bharti's house when they conducted the raid there. “Both Bharti and her husband Harsh Limbachiya accepted use of Ganja. While Bharti Singh has been arrested, the examination of Harsh Limbachiya is underway,” news agncy ANI quoted NCB officials as saying.

This raid by NCB is the latest in a series of investigations conducted at houses of some big names connected with Bollywood. Earlier this month Actor Arjun Rampal and producer Firoz Nadiadwala were also raided by NCB in connection with a drugs use.


As per law, Upto 1 kg of ganja is considered as small quantity, on which a jail term of up to six months and/or fine of Rs. 10,000 can be given. Possession of 20 kg or more can attract up to 20 years in jail. For in between, the punishment can be as much as 10 years in the prison.
