Indian Navy Day : History of the Day

Indian Navy Day is celebrated on 4th of December every year. The aim to celebrate navy day is to honor recognise and award the brave achievements and role of the Indian Navy to the security of the country.

On this day of December 4, 1971, the courageous soldiers of the Indian Navy fought with Pakistan PNS khyber and buried down many large combat war ships under in the sea. Due to their brave efforts the path of Pakistan's defeat was cleared. To make this day immortal, the Indian Navy celebrates the Indian Navy Day on 4 December.

Indian Navy is a multi dimensional armed forces, capable of operating on and aswell under the surfaces of the oceans surrounding the nation and safeguarding the country's interests. 

The administrative and action control of the Indian Navy is commanded by the Chief of the Naval Staff from the Integrated Headquarters of the Ministry of Defence (Navy). The Navy operates under three Commands, each under the control of a Flag officer Commanding-in-Chief.
