MI VS DC - Bumrah creates unique records
Mumbai Indians continued their dominance in the Indian Premier League. The four-time IPL champions were at their best form on Thursday as they thrashed Delhi Capitals to book their ticket to the IPL 2020 final. They are now just one win away from their fifth IPL title. It will also be their third in four years.
Indian Pacer Jasprit Bumrah, was the hero of victory for MI in this match and gave his team the ticket of IPL final for the sixth time by taking 4 wickets for just 14 runs. Along with this, Bumrah also made many unique records in this match.
Bumrah registered his best-ever bowling figures in T20 cricket by taking 4 wickets and giving just 14 runs. But it wasn't the only record he made. He broke Bhuvnehswar Kumar’s record of dismissing most wickets(26 wickets) in a season, as an Indian bowler. Bumrah is currently the owner of Purple Cap in the tournament. He took his total count of wickets to 27, Following him is Kagiso Rabada (23) who failed to pick a single wicket in the qualifier.
Bumrah was awarded the Man of the Match Award and he was happy with his performance.
“I am okay with not getting wickets and winning the tournament, I have been given a role so I just want to execute that role. Opening yorker was really important. I decided I will do that early in the game and when it comes off it’s always nice. I am always ready when the captain wants me to bowl. I don’t focus on the end result."
